ANCHORAGE, Alaska – The Bureau of Land Management today released the Draft Business Plan for the Alaska State Office Public Information Center in Anchorage for a 30-day public comment period. The plan includes details about the America the Beautiful interagency pass sales location, associated operating costs, financial analysis and the proposed use of collected revenue. The public is encouraged to offer comments on the draft business plan through Oct. 28.

“The Alaska Public Information Center is one of the few places in Anchorage where the public may purchase the America the Beautiful interagency pass,” said Zach Million, outdoor recreation planner for the Bureau of Land Management. “Up to 100 percent of the revenue collected from the interagency pass program allows the Bureau of Land Management to enhance public recreational resources and educational programming throughout Alaska.”

The Alaska State Office Public Information Center, located in the James M. Fitzgerald United States Courthouse and Federal Building at 222 West 7th Ave. in downtown Anchorage, Alaska, is a full-service resource for the visiting public. Here, visitors may transact business related to mining, land and realty services, and find a wealth of information including maps and brochures on recreational and educational items. The center staff is available 8 am to 4 pm Monday through Friday. The public is also welcome to browse the center’s online brochures, maps and notices.
